How is coaching different from therapy?

Coaching focuses on your present and future, helping you set and achieve specific goals without the need for a formal diagnosis. It’s action-oriented, providing strategies and tools to navigate challenges, build resilience, and empower you to move forward. Unlike therapy, which often involves deep exploration of the past and may involve diagnostic labels, coaching is more about practical, day-to-day support. It offers techniques to help you manage triggers, set healthy boundaries, and rebuild confidence in real-time, guiding you along your recovery journey without labeling or limiting you. This approach keeps you focused on solutions, self-empowerment, and tangible progress.

1. How long are your sessions?

Each coaching session typically lasts between 50-55 minutes. During this time, we focus on your specific challenges, goals, and action plans to help you make meaningful progress on your journey. The session length allows us to dive deep into your needs while keeping the focus on practical, actionable strategies.

2. What can I expect in a coaching session?

Coaching sessions are tailored to your unique needs. We’ll work on understanding your situation, identifying your goals, and creating a clear action plan. I’ll provide tools, strategies, and support to help you navigate the complexities of narcissistic abuse and build a future that aligns with your values and strengths.

3. Who is coaching for?

Coaching is for anyone who has experienced narcissistic abuse, whether you are still in the situation, planning your exit, or in the process of rebuilding your life. It’s also for those who have been impacted by narcissistic behaviors as adult children, faced toxic work environments, or encountered other forms of manipulation and control. Coaching offers clarity, confidence, and practical solutions to move forward. Whether you’re dealing with the aftermath of a narcissistic “relationship,” seeking guidance through family dynamics, or navigating legal, financial, or emotional challenges, I’m here to support you.

4. Do I need to be out of the abusive situation to start coaching?

No, you don’t need to have left the situation to begin coaching. Whether you’re still in the “relationship,” planning your exit, or already on the path to healing, coaching can provide the support, strategies, and clarity you need at any stage.

5. What’s your approach to coaching?

I use a trauma-informed approach that’s compassionate, practical, and strategic. With a master’s in psychology, I combine my educational background with personal experience to offer insights that are both informed and empathetic. I’ve been where you are, so I know what it takes to break free and thrive. My coaching is personalized to your unique needs, focusing on empowering you to navigate challenges, set boundaries, and rebuild your life on your terms and at your pace.

6. How often should I have coaching sessions?

It depends on your goals and current situation. Some clients prefer to start with twice-weekly sessions, while others find that weekly or even bi-weekly sessions suit their needs better. Ultimately, the frequency is up to you, and we can adjust it as you progress. We’ll discuss what feels right for your situation during our initial consultation.

7.Are coaching sessions confidential?

Yes, your privacy and confidentiality are my top priorities. Everything shared during our sessions is kept strictly confidential, and no personal or session-related data is disclosed to third parties.

8. Do you offer free consultations?

Yes, I offer a free 30-minute consultation for new clients. This is an opportunity for us to connect, discuss your needs, and determine if my coaching approach is the right fit for you.

9. What if I’m already seeing a therapist? Can I still work with you?

Yes, coaching can complement therapy. While therapy focuses on deep healing and understanding, coaching provides practical tools and strategies to apply what you’ve learned in therapy to your everyday life. Many clients find that coaching and therapy together give them a well-rounded support system.

10. What issues can coaching help me with?

Coaching can assist with a range of challenges related to narcissistic abuse, including developing exit strategies, rebuilding confidence, navigating family court, setting healthy boundaries, and managing emotional triggers. Whether you’re still in an abusive “relationship,” dealing with its aftermath, or struggling in a toxic work environment, coaching offers practical support to help you move forward.

11. Can I still benefit from coaching if I’m not ready to leave the situation?

Absolutely. Coaching can be incredibly helpful even if you’re not yet ready to leave. We can work on building your confidence, understanding your situation, and developing a plan that prioritizes your safety and well-being. The goal is to help you gain clarity and feel empowered, whatever stage you’re at.

12. How do I get started with coaching?

The first step is to schedule a free 30-minute consultation. During this session, we’ll discuss your situation, what you’re looking to achieve, and how coaching can help. From there, we can decide on a coaching plan that works best for you.
